KODAK Lenses' lens coatings can include Blue-Violet Light Filtering properties, alongside the blocking of UV Light, to offer protection to wearers' vision. Majority of the blue-violet light exposure comes from the sun, but also from digital screens.
The combination of Blue-Violet Light Filtering properties with an Anti-Reflective Lens Coating can further enables the wearer to better compensate for lighting conditions and offers a greater visible contrast.

With standard lenses, all visible light including blue-violet light, as well as some UV light, passes through the lenses and into the eyes.

Adaptive Design⁹
Point of Wear

Adaptive Design offers a new level of customization with wearer’s measurements being taken into consideration to calculate a compensated lens design which has been optimized for the individual. Depending on the frame position and prescription, Adaptive Design can dramatically improve the wearer’s viewing experience.

Wrap Angle

This refers to how much the frame is bowed. For a frame with a large bow, such as a wrapped frame, the wearer will notice a significant reduction in viewing through the correct prescribed power and that the optical centers will need to be readjusted accordingly.

Back Vertex Distance

Slight modifications will be needed based on how close or far the wearer’s eyes are to the back lens surface. A proper vertex distance allows the wearer the full benefit of width of the lens corridor.

Monocular PD

Measurement from the point where the line of sight intersects the lens to the center of the bridge of the frame. Even if the nose is symmetrical and centered, the wearer’s eyes may not be equidistant from the centerline of the nose.

Pantoscopic Tilt

Depending on whether the frame sits flat to the face or at an angle will determine the necessary compensation needed to position the correct prescribed power in front of the eye.
